Brittani is from Phoenix, Arizona where she was very active in the music community. Born to two music professionals, Brittani was involved in something musical from a very young age. She participated in local church choirs, as well as the choral programs at Glendale Community College and Northern Arizona University.

After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in Spanish and English composition, Brittani sang with Valley Women's Ensemble in Phoenix for two seasons. In 2014, Brittani moved to Berkeley, California, to earn a Masters of Divinity at The Graduate Theological Union.

In August 2017, Brittani moved again–this time to Honolulu, Hawaiʻi–and was invited to join Karol's Karolers later that fall. She also sings with the Lutheran Church of Honolulu and the HPU Chorale. When she is not singing, Brittani works as a Pulpit Supply Preacher and Chaplain.

Mike Dupre grew up in Standish, ME and moved to Honolulu in 2004 to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He began as a choral music education major, took a detour into vocal performance, performed a lot of community musical theater, and settled into singing tenor for St. Mark’s Episcopal Church as a section leader.

While at school, he studied voice with John Mount, and sang in choral ensembles under Dr. Karen Kennedy and Dr. Esther Yoo. As an actor, Mike has performed for most of the local community theaters on the island, in shows such as Hair, Les Miserables, Tony and Tina’s Wedding, Children of Eden, and The Rocky Horror Show.

In 2014, Mike took the position of music director and choirmaster at St. Mark’s, and has been directing the choir there ever since. Mike also sings with the Oahu Choral Society and the Honolulu Chamber Choir, once again under direction of Dr. Yoo. During the week, Mike works as the store manager for Starbucks at the Ward Entertainment Center.

Scott is in his third season with the Karolers, joining in 2015 after relocating from Seattle. A singer with a great love of a cappella music, Scott has entertained audiences throughout the US and Canada and also at sea as a singer aboard several Celebrity ships. Equally at home in the concert hall or church, his interest in classical choral singing runs deep.

Scott serves as the Director of Music & Liturgy at the Lutheran Church of Honolulu, though he has made guest performing and conducting appearances with numerous organizations including Hawai'i Vocal Arts Ensemble, Na Leo Lani, Hawai'i Pacific University, Early Music Hawai'i, and the Shomyo Ensemble.

When he's not singing or waving his arms around in the air, Scott can be found working in the garden, sampling fine whiskey, or hosting a German sparkle party.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Darryl played the piano and clarinet as a kid and stayed away from any musical education in college. However, he did enjoy playing the piano and singing Elton John and Beatles songs in high school.

During the first week of graduate school at UC Irvine, clubs were recruiting new members in the campus courtyard. The banner that read: “Do you like to sing?” caught his attention! Not knowing it was the sign-up for choir auditions, he ventured over to that table and reluctantly agreed to audition for Professor Joseph Huszti. It was a low-pressure audition and Darryl soon found himself singing in the University Singers, faking his way along until he was hooked.

Since then, he has always participated in some sort of choral group in California, Washington and Hawaii. Life-long friendships and adventures around the world have been made through choirs.

A medical curiosity, Cliff emerged from the womb with white hair and cheery disposition while cooing the tune of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” Although today he has more degrees than a protractor, he is perhaps most famous for inventing the pronunciation of Worcestershire Sauce as toddler, forever changing our steak dinner experience. At the age of sixteen, after winning the European Bullfighting Festival championship, Clifford traveled from Madrid to Paris to pursue his childhood passion: fashion design.

As an adrenaline enthusiast and aficionado of all things punny, Cliff is a world-class rock climber and conquerer of Mt. Everest. Not one to shy from any challenge, he holds the Guinness-certified record for most hot dogs ingested in a 12000 foot skydive. He has also displayed his physical strength and unmitigated romantic side by becoming the Wife-Carrying Champion of Nimrod, MN, thrice–although he has not beenr awarded the medal due an ongoing technical dispute about whose wives are eligible for carriage.

Today, Clifford spends most of his free time practicing the accordion and listening to Nickleback. His more expensive time is reserved for other bands.

Lena Ann Keanu-Reichel was born in Honolulu Hawai’i. The granddaughter of Marilyn Sullivan, a music teacher and pianist, Lena was constantly exposed to music as a child. She performed with The Kamehameha Schools Concert Glee Club at the American Choral Directors Association in Los Angeles, California in 2005.

After graduating from Kamehameha Schools in 2005, Lena went on to study voice at The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2010. Lena received her Master of Divinity in 2015. Lena is a core vocalist with The Nā Wai Chamber Choir, a treble ensemble dedicated to preserving, propagating, and innovating Hawaiian Choral music and celebrating treble voices; her voice can be heard on their debut album, Eō E Lili’uokalani.

Recently, Lena has toured Austria and Prague with The Hawai‘i Vocal Arts Ensemble in the summer of 2018. She has been enjoying singing and imbibing with the Karolers since the spring of 2017.

Lena is a clinically trained Chaplain who works with Pacific Health Ministry.

Mitchell comes from the island of Oahu, and, apart from attending a mainland university, has lived here his entire life. He dabbled with the piano and violin before discovering choral singing at UC Davis where he sang under Albert McNeil and Paul Hillier.

After receiving his librarian degree from the University of Hawaii, he now works as a Youth Services librarian at the Ewa Beach Public and School Library.

Although technically a baritone, he has been known to sing low bass and second tenor (under duress). So far he has avoided singing the alto part.

He has had the honor of singing with many choirs, including the Symphony Chorus, the Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble, the Honolulu Chorale, and the church choirs of St. Mark’s, St. Andrew’s, and now the Lutheran Church of Honolulu. He has been with Karol’s Karolers since the beginning.

Karol moved to O'ahu in January 2012 after receiving his music degrees from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. Soon after his arrival he began singing under John Renke with the St. Andrew’s Cathedral Choir where he felt he completed his practical training as a musician. The experience had been formative, and it inspired Karol to always uphold the value of good craftsmanship.

Karol and Michał sang in a caroling ensemble organized by their voice teachers when they were in high school, and have been eager to recreate an environment of joy and camaraderie they experienced back then. They founded the Karolers in the fall of 2012 and have been spreading the christmas cheer ever since.

When he is not singing, Karol enjoys teaching singing to others, pretending to play the piano, and writing music. He also likes running, hiking, silly dancing, and blogging about his daily ponderings.

Michał is one of the founders of Karol's Karolers, currently in its 8th season. Although he was technically a French major in college, Michał dabbled in theater and voice whenever he could – his shower concerts have traumatized many a housemate over the years.

For the last decade, Michał has managed to lead a double life working as a public school teacher and union activist during the day while devoting his evenings to rehearsals, musical, theater, and opera productions in Honolulu. He has sung with several choral ensembles, toured with Timothy Carney's Masterworks Chorus, and performed at private events (most frequently portraying Kristoff from Disney's Frozen.)

Today, Michał is a member of the Lutheran Church of Honolulu choir and sings with the HPU Chorale. Although he is no longer in the classroom, his heart is still in education. He is currently writing a book about teaching and public schools.

Bowe joined the Karolers during the Fall 2017 season. He graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a BA in Music and minor in Hawaiian Language. His love of choral music stemmed from his participation in the Kamehameha Schools Concert Glee Club, and has been a member of groups such as the U.H. Chamber Singers, U.H. Voices of Aloha, LCC Kanikapila Singers, the Early Music Hawaii choir, and Nā Hulu Pīkake.

Bowe has a passion for Hawaiian choral music and has lent his skill of choral arrangements to the Kamehameha Schools Song Contest, St. Andrew's Schools - The Priory, Nā Wai Chamber Choir (formally Colla Voce), Nā Hulu Pīkake, and Molokaʻi High School. He teaches at St. Andrew's Schools - The Priory as the Upper School Choir Teacher, works at Kamehameha Schools as the Evening Program Coordinator for the Kaʻiwakīloumoku Hawaiian Cultural Center, and teaches as a music assistant for the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Special Events.

During his free time, he enjoys reading, video games, baking, and spending time with friends.

Originally from Illinois, Colby Walls comes to Hawaii by way of Alaska. Growing up in a large musical family meant get togethers often included impromptu performances of barbershop tags, local favorites and hymns. Singing with family instilled a life-long love of music and choral singing.

After moving to Alaska, Colby joined the Anchorage Concert Chorus, the UAA University Singers, and the UAA Jazz Ensemble. Colby continued to pursue her love of music after arriving in Hawaii in 2002, singing with church choirs and joining Hawaii Vocal Arts Ensemble.

The beauty of Hawaii continues to motivate Colby and is reflected in her hobbies that include photography, hiking and watersports. As a wife and mother, Colby spends as much time as possible with her family, including their beloved dog, Kira.

David J. joined the Karolers during the Fall 2018 season and has not submitted a bio since.
